EXC.01 - TOMAR / FÁTIMA / BATALHA / NAZARÉ / ALCOBAÇA / TOMAR Departures: 20, 24 and 25th March 2005 At 08.00 a.m., meeting and departure from IPT, in Tomar, through FÁTIMA. Free time to visits. Time which will be indicated, we will continue the travel to BATALHA, to visit the famous Santa Maria da Vitória Monastery. Next is NAZARÉ, a piscatory city and beautiful beach. Free time to lunch or to do all you want. At 03.00 p. m., departure to ALCOBAÇA. Visit to the Cister Order Monastery, built in 1178. In the end, go back to Tomar, with expected arrival time at 06.30 p.m.. EXC.02 – ZÊZERE RIVER CRUISE
At 08.00 a m., meeting and departure from IPT, in Tomar, through VILA DE REI.
Visit to the Ethnographic Municipal Museum, where we can discover objects use in a rural house, between the XIX and XX centuary.
Departure to LAGO AZUL, where we will realize a cruise in the S. CRISTÓVÃO' BOAT, with lunch on board, observing fantastic scenaries of beauty in the most dazzling and original of the Portuguese landscapes. In the end we will go to a charming village called DORNES, in old mediaeval city, developed all around the church which was built under the order of the Queen Santa Isabel, nearly there is a Pantagonal Tower of the Templars. In the honour of the Nossa Senhora das Dores (Our Lady of Pain) nowadays, the religious feast which are realized here during spring/summer revive secular traditions. At last, return to Tomar, with expected arrival time at 06.30 p.m..

EXC. 04 - THE FUTURE IN THE PRESENT - Nature and History…
Departures: 25 and 26 March 2005
At 08.30 a.m., meeting and departure from IPT, in Tomar, in direction to TORRES NOVAS. Visit to Villae Rusticae de Cardílio, “villa rural romana”, with ocupation between the I and IV centurys . We will persue to the Natural Reservation of Paúl de Boquilobo, protected area integrate in the Mundial Association of the Biosphere Reservation of UNESCO, situated on the confluence of the Tejo and Almonda rivers . After the visit we will have lunch at a restaurant (opcion A). In the afternoon, we will go to the Castle of Almourol, connected with the Order of the Templars, built by D. Gualdim Pais, Master of the Order of the Templars. Return to Tomar, with expected arrival time at 06.00 p. m..
