How to get to Tomar

Tomar is a small city right in the center of Portugal
The best way for you to get to Tomar is taking a plane to Lisbon, and then choosing to go:

  • By Train: There is a train branch that ends in Tomar. There are direct trains from Lisbon (St. Apolonia Station) every hour. The total journey duration is about 1h 45 min.
  • By Bus: There are a few daily buses from Lisbon (Station, Arco do Cego.). The total journey duration is about 1h 45 min.
  • By Car: If you are travelling on the A1 from Lisbon or Porto. Leave the A1 at Torres Novas exit (Km 91) and take A23 to the Entroncamento/ Tomar exit. Then follow the IC3/EN110 until you arrive in Tomar.

If you came by plane from Oporto, you can also get to Tomar

·         By Train (Campanhã Station) every hour. The total journey duration is about 5 hours
 By Car

You can take the A1 Oporto - Lisbon, but also get out in Torres Novas and take A23 to the Entroncamento/Tomar exit. Then follow the IC3/EN110 until you arrive in Tomar.
