CAAPortugal

CAAPortugal is a non-profitable organisation bringing together a great variety of supporting sciences of archaeology.

It aims to:
a) Foster cooperation and fellowship among its members by taking actions concerning computer and quantitative applications to archaeology and human sciences in general.
b)
Stimulate cooperation between archaeologists, mathematicians and computer engineers.
c)
Promote the yearly organisation at national level of the Computer Applications in Archaeology Conference.
d)
Stimulate research on the actions being carried out in the field of computer applications in archaeology.
e)
Support to the development and dissemination of Archaeology, particularly in what concerns the application of new computer technologies.
f)
Develop projects in the abovementioned areas, which are recognised by the scientific community.  
g)
Foster study, research, and dissemination of information regarding this topic by cooperating with every public and private institution aiming at social integration and the development of appropriate policies.

CAAPortugal membership includes such higher education establishments as Archaeology Institute of Coimbra; Faculty of Letters, Coimbra University; Archaeology Department of the Classical University of Lisbon; Geology Department of the   Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro University, among others) as well as museums and other public institutions.
